Pan Am's DC-7C "Super-7" became the world's fastest over-ocean airliner, finally solving a problem the airline had been pushing the industry to address since 1939: nonstop transatlantic service in both directions, in any weather. The ad backs its "Speed Queens" claim with real speed records — New York to Paris in 9 hours 18 minutes, among others.
